Our Challenge

The challenge for Acuamed is to satisfy the growing need for water in a way that is compatible with the environment, with a commitment to technology and to advanced and innovative management models.

At Acuamed, we guarantee protection of natural eco-systems at the different infrastructures we work on in our area of action, ensuring that both European and state and regional legislation is complied with as applicable. Desalination and reuse is one of Acuamed’s main solutions to the problem of water shortage, besides spreading awareness for responsible consumption and saving water.

A fundamental aspect of technological progress in desalination is the reduction of energy consumption at installations. At Acuamed, it is of utmost importance that it be managed appropriately to develop competitive solutions, mainly at the operational phase of our desalination plants.

Efficient Control

The design of the plants, with reverse osmosis technology, reduces energy consumption and increases recovery of energy used through advanced Output Recovery Systems (recovering hydraulic energy to compensate consumption). Our wastewater treatment plants based on the implementation of large areas of green filters add land with extensive biodiversity and different technologies from tertiary systems to allow the reuse of the pure water obtained.

Acuamed is clearly committed to research. For many years, we have been collaborating closely with public bodies, universities and research centres to develop more advanced and efficient solutions to minimise effects on the environment – from designing and situating desalination plants, to dumping systems for saltwater, with the goal of environmental integration for our actions and, in general, the protection of the environment.
